Last two pieces for the CoD Big Bang! This was so much fun to work on to go along with the amazing writing by @simcoehole.bsky.social, who once again knocked it out of the park.

My idiot son apparently fell off his cat bed while I was out and greeted me with a limp tail. Fearing it broken, I ran him to the vet and thankfully it appears to only be a sprain. I'm relieved but also, goddammit cat I'm not made of money, land on your feet next time

I have a four week buffer of comics scheduled... It took me falling into the CoD fandom to work out a comic posting schedule and workflow that I can actually stick to. 🤷🏻‍♂️

on the topic of itch, have you read this short story i uploaded there some years ago? i keep forgetting about it, but it still gets kind reviews from time to time. gigidigi.itch.io/divine

Panel one shows a big coach bus with luggage laid out in front of its doors. A group of people are mingling together in front of the building. The sky is light with dark clouds. Just coming into the bottom of the frame is someone walking up to the group carrying a backpack and whistling a jaunty tune. They are bright against the dark background. Panel 2 is medium shot of Gaz and Ghost standing and looking off screen judgmentally. Gaz is leaning one arm on his rolling luggage and carrying a coffee while Ghost is standing with crossed arms. Gaz is saying "That the new pitcher then?" Ghost responds with a non-committal "mm." Panel 3 is a medium shot of Soap radiating literal beams of light and flowers like a shoujo manga heroine. He's wearing his baseball uniform already and has a hopeful smile and wide eyes. Panel 4 is an over the shoulder shot from Ghost's perspective looking at Soap who is bumping a fist against Ghost's chest and saying "Let's get ourselves a win, yeah?" There is a shadow being cast behind Ghost from Soap's beaming energy and one of the flowers from the previous frame is bouncing off Ghost's head. Panel 5 is a closer shot looking over Ghost's shoulder as Soap scampers off in a cloud of those same flowers shouting excitedly, "Save you a seat!" Soap is still radiating light while Ghost is cast in shadow. Panel 6 shows a closeup of Ghost's face surrounded by dark grainy clouds. His expression looks somewhere between disgruntled and angry and confused. He is saying "Bloody hell," while off-screen Price is saying, "Be nice, Ghost."

Page 4 - No One Plays Alone

This was a delightful read, sobbing rn

Panel one caption: "A few months ago” First panel is a wide shot of a baseball training facility. There is a baseball diamond batting cages and various equipment scattered about the warehouse size space. Three figures are visible down by the batting cages. The location tag reads “Team 141 spring training, t141 facility Spring 20xx.” Panel 2 is a medium shot of the three figures showing Price, Gaz and Ghost. Gaz is in the batting cage wearing a helmet and elbow guard and looks prepared to bat. Price is watching while Ghost is looking down at a sheaf of papers. Both have their backs to the camera. Price is saying “straighten up, Gaz” and Gaz is saying “yes sir.” Panel 3 is a close up of Ghost’s papers. In big letters across the top is written John Soap MacTavish picture. Panel 4 shows the batter saying "sorry, boss" to Graves, who responds "don't you worry" In panel 5, Graves is backlit and saying ominously, "I've got a nice surprise for our boys in the 141."
