After about a year, I like bluesky a surprising amount for how little I contribute or engage. It’s bizarrely healthy to only check an app when I’m bored, instead of as mindless habit or for a little dopamine from a like or repost.

Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

If I have to explain to you why it's a bad idea to use a machine that makes shit up 15-80% of the time AND destroys the environment AND contributes to rising fascism and genocide AND puts brilliant skillful creatives out of work by stealing their work, then we're already speaking different languages

Me, explaining yet again that the idea of 'Economic Collapse' is a misnomer for a cycle of wealth consolidation that is actually the current system functioning as it's organized to do

The trip begins for Abby on this double-page spread...
This was my idea, not in the script. How could I change YOUR perception of the reading experience? This was my solution, designing the spread so you'd 'tip' the page accordingly as you read, orchestrating the positioning of balloons...

Red book on bottom is Marvel Comics “House of X Powers of X” by Hickman (with Larraz, Silva, and Gracia on art, Cowles lettering, Muller design)
newest layer of my “to read” pile features HOX/POX and some non-fiction about pre-colonial Philippines

Alex + Ada Issue 1 on a black table top, sitting underneath a vase of pink roses and flowers. The photo is taken from above so the flowers are sharply focused on the foreground and the comics are slightly blurry in the backgrounds.
I owned copies of Alex + Ada (Jonathan Luna, Sarah Vaughn) because the simple visual grammar and adult storyline (sci-fi + romance) make it an easy starting place for adults who feel like they don’t know ::how:: to read comics. Again, I never loaned this series out so it’s been deposited at my LCS

Just an FYI and a reminder. Alt Text isn't like a caption. It is for visually impaired people. A "screen reader" reads the alt text to them, so it should be descriptive text.
If it's a verbal meme, you should enter the text of the meme. If it's a visual joke, you should explain the joke.
