9 mile trail race Saturday. I’ve done this race three times and always some sort of mishap occurs. I am prone to taking wrong turns. But that didn’t happen this time. I also didn’t fall down. Five almosts. Did snag an age division award.

Last run of 2025. Probably also the last day for holiday lights along my regular route. It was a chilly one this morning. I’m okay with it because I would always rather run on the cold. I might be weird.

Best time of the year.

Opted for a 2 person turkey trot today. The local one had 1,000+ registrants. I’m not so brave. A quiet morning, a little chilly but just enough to feel like fall. Happy running to everyone who braved the crowds today.

Medal (or, rather, podium) Monday. Age division place at a trail 10k. Run buddy was nice enough to preview the course with me beforehand. So, I didn’t get lost and I didn’t fall down. Fall running has officially kicked off.

Not quite the fast/flat course I was expecting. Three decent climbs spread throughout the course made this one a challenge. Spent the rest of the day on a bourbon inspired pin crawl with my run buddy (who was nice enough to navigate us to each stop)

Do not feel silly. A good running coach knows that your goals are important and can show you a better way to achieve them. Some people need a bit of outside assistance. You’re doing something for you. That’s great. Good luck with it all.
