Good news!

A record number of hip and knee operations were performed by NHS Scotland last year.

Surgeries completed this week at Rosemount, Hanover Street, Tillydrone, Seaton, Froghall, Ruthrieston & Ferryhill.

Lots of issues raised by constituents & we’re currently working on all the cases on their behalf.

This afternoon, I met with Angela Scott, Aberdeen City Council chief executive & Fiona Mitchellhill, chief officer of Aberdeen Health & Social Care Partnership to chat about all things social care, including discussion about the sad closure of Mental Health Aberdeen.

Only independence will protect Scottish pensioners from never-ending Westminster cash grabs.

I’ve written to Aberdeen City Council, the Port of Aberdeen & Aberdeen Inspired to thank their staff & the volunteers that made Tall Ships Aberdeen the success that it was.

Plaudits also go to the people, third sector & businesses of our city, who were so welcoming to visitors.

Spent a fantastic afternoon with First Minister, John Swinney & my colleague Audrey Nicoll MSP saying farewell to the Tall Ships & speaking to the throng of folk who were there to wave off the crews.

To all the ships & crews thank you & haste ye back to Aberdeen soon!

Thanks to SAMH for holding an informative breakfast event on the Tall Shop, Morgenster this morning.

Lots of chat about mental wellbeing, announcement of SAMH’s Nook service coming to Aberdeen next spring & some sea shanties from the Polish Scottish choir.

Today’s Tall Ship’s crew parade & awards ceremony brightened up a dreich Aberdeen today.

The weather wasn’t great, but it certainly didn’t dampen spirits.

Aberdeen is buzzing again today. Sailors from Oman heading towards the start of the crew parade.

Everyone has become an honorary Aberdonian, so in the Doric these guys could be called the Omani mannies.

A wonderful sight in the Port of Aberdeen.

The Tall Ships are absolutely amazing & the crowds are all having fun.
