Over 126,000 unpaid carers are being supported through devolved carer benefits.

Unpaid carers are essential to our communities, and I’m proud that this SNP government is enhancing the financial support available to them.

Last year 94,000 households were supported by the Discretionary Housing Payment scheme in Scotland, mitigating harsh Westminster policies.

These payments are a vital lifeline for people in emergency situations, where they cannot afford the cost of putting a roof over their head.
