Me neither, but there have been a few more around this year, and one was good enough to rest on the back door with me inside.

Yes. Loads around here. We often see a light crop followed by a heavier one, but this year is exceptional.
01.08.2025 18:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As itโs #NationalMarineWeek, its a good time to post these two cryptic creatures found in the rock pools of Old Hunstanton. Some sort of goby and some sort of shrimp โฆ. I think.

Thanks. Will take a look at them.
29.07.2025 09:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I find butterfly flight amazing even without damage. It looks so haphazard but is exceedingly well controlled.

28.07.2025 19:55 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A Noon Fly was perched on a fence rail. As i took a couple of pics, I spied a Common Lizard two bars down keeping a watchful eye.

Come hang out with me in Leicester!
Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust are recruiting for an Office Assistant:
Struggling with an ID for this caterpillar. Quite a chunky one as can be seen with Thick Thighs giving it scale.
Looks like it may be about to pupate judging by the silk threads. No good side pic, so can't count prolegs.

There was an interesting little bee in the garden. I went indoors to pick up the camera and on returning, the bee had flown. In its place was this tiny chap. A nymph of the Ant Damsel Bug, Himacerus mirmicoides. The first weโve seen in the garden.
