yeah, i wonder how much more of her they shot.the released cut is so lean for a modern superhero movie. they left john malkovich on the cutting room floor!

the way she tries to coax ben, jack’s go-to stand-in, out of his rocky shell and the way he confides in her of his delinquent youth–it just really got me in the feels. roz was jack’s biggest champion and fan and empowerer and she’ll never have her name in a movie credit thank you list. this is nice.

I haven’t see the hubbub & part of me wished it was alicia in that story role but her last name is rozman which i took as a direct tribute to roz kirby and i don’t see how anyone can have an issue with that.

but how great is it for his character to work that hard to really understand the surfer on her terms and footing? i just really enjoyed the inversion from so many of the previous takes on johnny.

johnny does work in this movie. i really love how he’s portrayed and the role he plays in how the whole thing unfolds. ben will always be my favorite FF character and they really did a great job with him too.

if it’s del, the automator, & kid koala do i get couch time with all 3?

(i personally loved that they found different ways to show johnny’s boyish charm and emotional immaturity rather than rely on the overused womanizer shtick)

despite what july’s comic book movies portray, i believe jimmy olsen should not be way more misogynistic than johnny storm

Lois is great. there isn’t another female character with any depth & i spent the back half of the movie being mad at jimmy olsen for being a douche to his ex. in bechdel test terms, i was hard pressed to remember 2 women having a conversation at all (i think there’s 1 & it’s about lois’s love life)
