🌱 I especially like giving away lettuce because they’re quick to mature, don’t take a lot of work, and who doesn’t love a quick salad from the garden?

Things have definitely shifted to Fall in our yard. I haven’t had many flowers to give away this year because of slugs and Japanese beetles but I try to put out bouquets when I can. I do have lots of lettuce starts to give away tho!

I want to add more of the shorter varieties too! I love how many there are to choose from. I really focused on height when selecting plants (for privacy reasons, haha) and ended up liking the effect! I like having to wade through my plants a little bit 😆

It is indeed! This is the Cloth of Gold variety. I honestly didn’t realize how tall they get when I got the seeds, but I’m really digging them!

That honestly sounds satisfying, hahaha. But yeah I never really looked into it but winter weather's my guess too! Does everyone else bring all of their pots in for the winter?

Haha oh no! I've never had a pot lose its lip that cleanly but pretty much all of them have chipped at this point. I thought terracotta pots were supposed to be durable??

The front yard was a total blank canvas when we bought the place, which was part of the appeal. I made a veggie garden space and filled it with river rocks, then a wide border with lots of shrubs so our house had a bit more privacy from the sidewalk. Now no one can see when I’m milling about ✨
