Silly Jimmy Kimmel. He should have just called for all homeless people to be killed and he’d still have a job.

Apparently, inflation is bad, but we must impose tariffs to raise the cost of cheap imports so people buy expensive American goods. We can re-shore manufacturing, but to be cost competitive, we have to fully automate factories, replacing American workers with robots.

crazy to see a 3hr deeply personal interview boiled down to just a "profane outburst". Fuck Clooney, fuck Axelrod, fuck Carville, fuck the pod save losers, fuck Tapper, fuck Thompson and fuck you too

Spot on. This is the clearest explanation I’ve seen. It β€˜s relatable, and humanizes the issue in a way everyone can understand.

this is an insane, bizarre state of affairs in which no one knows who's at war with whom, all stemming from the fact that the president is a brain-damaged moron who doesn't know how anything works and lies constantly, which the news refuses to relay and must somehow write around

Not to put too fine of a point on this, but if I spent the last few months putting innocent people in concentration camps and the pope died basically three seconds after I met him, I would not continue life apace, I would not immediately clock back in at the fascism factory.

And just to be obvious, if this isn’t the moment to use every parliamentary procedure possible to hold the legislative branch hostage until the executive branch is brought under control, then there is no point to having a legislature at all

In just four days, Dr. Khan Suri was transferred among five different ICE facilities across three states, despite the fact that ICE records indicate there were beds in Virginia facilities. Dr. Khan Suri was fasting in religious observance of Ramadan, but multiple ICE facilities refused him food or water to break his fast.

For almost two weeks, he was housed in a room without a bed and with a television blaring 21 hours a day. Dr. Khan Suri was issued used underwear, and a bright red uniform that is usually reserved for detained individuals who have been classified as β€˜high security’ based on their criminal history or alleged affiliation with criminal organizations. He is not permitted to work or spend more than two hours per week outside of his dorm.

Georgetown scholar Dr. Khan Suri, who was abducted by ICE, was refused food/water to break Ramadan fast, housed in a room without a bed, and issued *used* underwear.

His child cried for days after he was taken and has since stopped speaking.

Unironically, the finance world being caught off sides by this is why they should hire less economists and more political scientists.

In a former life, I used to travel regularly to repressive countries where device security and contingency planning were major concerns (think UAE, Jordan, Kazakhstan, etc.).

I am absolutely applying those same precautions to any US travel for the foreseeable.

to be clear, this is what mass deportation looks like: going after parents, grandparents, neighbors, workers, people building (or who have built) American lives who have done more to enrich their communities than any person serving in this monstrous administration

"Democrats will get a bad ruling from the parliamentarian and they'll say, 'welp, what could we possibly do?' Whereas the Republicans are like, 'the parliamentarian says we can't do that so let's just get a new fucking parliamentarian.' And that's a microcosm for the broader fight."

Musk Donates to G.O.P. Members of Congress Who Support Impeaching Judges Amid a controversy over whether President Trump will abide by court rulings, Elon Musk gave the maximum to the campaigns of Republicans who back ousting judges who impede the administration.

The fact that the world’s richest man works at the behest of the executive and can buy out the legislature is massively outside the scope of what the framers could have imagined

there’s is simply no constitutional measure that can guard against something like this

The decisive test of our society in my lifetime was the 2024 election and our failure was spectacular and total. I will never again have any faith in the American electorate to do the obviously right thing.

What’s astounding about this is that Schumer seems to want to set an absurdly high standard for crisis so that he doesn’t have to engage in real conflict with Trump - except the standard he’s set is also one Trump seems likely to meet in the near future, and Schumer has no plan for what to do then

They lost their savings investing in Trump’s meme coin, and their Medicaid benefits will be slashed in Trump’s new budget. Now they’re in a financial hole, and there’s only one person they trust to get them out: Donald Trump.

The moment you should have realized who these people were, but apparently did not, was during Trump’s second impeachment, when Senate Dems literally accidentally won a vote to call witnesses and transform the Jan 6 trial into Watergate 2.0… and then reversed it, because they wanted to move on

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.
