The El Paso airspace news is terrifying. Albuquerque is only 4 hours away from El Paso. Las Cruces (home to NM State University & many of my son’s friends) is only 45 minutes away. Something is going to happen & it feels too close to home!

I started learning to play American Mahjong a few weeks ago. It’s super fun! And very complicated! (A fab combo for me) But I got overwhelmed & cried while playing yesterday. Then I had a panic attack last night. I think maybe the social part is too much for me. I hate being me sometimes.

The “never before seen” footage in the new Disneyland Handcrafted documentary is amazing. I’m totally going to ask my engineer husband to watch it with me, and he’s not at all a Disney fan like I am.

Happy birthday! I’m literally arguing with myself about birthday promos today. My kid wants to take me to dinner & I’m trying to decide if I should save him money by going up a place that will give me free birthday food or go somewhere I actually want to eat. I need to find somewhere that does both!

So true! It constantly amazes me. This woman is old enough to be my boomer mother too.

*note: I wasn’t actually wearing my NPR shirt today because it’s hella cold. That’s just the only thing I can think from the past month that might have offended her. I’m always friendly. I just wander off when they start spouting conservative nonsense (after Lily mooches treats off of them)

I must be doing something right. The cranky & conservative ring leader of the 2 pm dog walkers at my local park straight up snubbed me like a 13yo mean girl today. She made eye contact & then pointedly turned her back to me when I said hello. I guess she didn’t like my NPR shirt.

Lily update: snow edition

I took this photo of a mama gorilla & her baby at our zoo. She climbed up to the top of a tree branch structure so she could watch the construction on the other side of the wall.

Sometimes all you can do is observe the action from a safe place.

I honestly love it. It felt like a huge weight had lifted once I realized they were doing well and happy. We did it! We helped them start the next chapter! Not being responsible for their day-to-day needs is GLORIOUS. Plus, I’m having fun with my husband again. 😏 Empty Nest = 10/10 would recommend!
