The invasion didn't happen because we couldn't get our shit together as these squabbling clans of pretty people. It happened because she tricked us into helping her eat a god so we could save a world on the brink of destruction. Going into midnight it feels like a total failure to establish conflict

Like if I were writing this, the thematic fulcrum here would be that Quel'thalas finally proves that they can set aside their ancient hatreds while Xal cannot, and that's why she loses. But I haven't seen anything to set that up. She is not set up as their own darkness reflected back at them.

We're supposed to be excited about the Windrunners getting back together and the elves setting aside their differences to take a stand and it's like... well why does she hate the elves? What is it about the elves that threatens her, particularly? Was an elf mean to her in grade school?

"This is the moment I've been waiting for for 100,000 years!" Okay but what do you actually want, girl? What makes you a thematically interesting antagonist? What do you represent other than the color indigo? What is the conflict here? You just want everyone to die? I feel totally lost.

Just got through the 1.2.7 story stuff in WoW and I think the story has started to unravel in a really weird way. Like they're setting up stakes, but it's just stakes without a "Why?" I understand so little of Xal'athath's motivation at this point so it just seems like she's nuking shit for lulz

So with bikes and asset modding implemented, I think Skylines 2 is at least "feature complete" in the sense that the original was at launch, two years later. As promised, I will now investigate if it's also like, working well enough to be able to recommend it.

One thing that always blows my mind about linguistics is finding out which common but slightly different words come from the same original root word. From Proto-Indo-European "sek" (to cut), we get sax (the knife) and the Saxons, but also Latin "secula" which shows up again in English as "sickle"
