Ivy-clad trees like this old holly are ecosystem powerhouses, providing food, shelter, and nesting places for a fantastic multitude of living things.

McClatchy fired its last 3 political cartoonists last week, including my friends Jack Ohman and Joel Pett, world-class observers. Joel gave me an autographed original of his most famous cartoon, one that has appeared all over the world. The gutting of American news continues.

Bluesky gave me a code that I passed on. How do I get rid of that code? Can still see it, though it says it only works once.

That sounds better than what I envisioned. :-)
