I'm only half joking about the Sanskrit... But I'm trying to think of assignments that would be too difficult in the past, rather than using it for the existing structures.

Maybe the true way to make the must of AI in the classroom is to use it to make bigger projects of more impressive scope, that would be too frustrating without... But not sure what that could look like for history assignments.

Maybe: your entire essay is based on documents in Sanskrit?

In those moments I've tried and given up and I'm asking the LLM to do the work of thinking for me. I'd be too frustrated to proceed without the help. But I'm a classroom, you have collaborators and assignments are structured to be just the right amount of frustrating.

Excellent points, and you nailed it with centering education rather than AI.

I find LLMs useful when leaning to code, eg why is this not positioned properly or which units are best practice? These are questions I'd ask a mentor or collaborator if I had one.
