A beautiful essay for a Sunday afternoon. I have fond memories of Sundays with neighborhood kids doing what seemed like nothing and going home when it got dark. @margaretrenkl.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/11/03/o...

I hit my daily limit pretty quickly.

Iβm going to send this to my kitty corner (ha! Get it?) neighbor who put up a sheet metal barrier in hopes that the combo of slippery and hot metal would deter feline escapes.
It doesnβt, BTW, because cats are smart and bendy.
3. When I pointed *that* out, Claude said it could try to list the links if I screenshot and showed the links to it. Which I did.
LOL moment: It then said it the text was too small in the drawer to be credibly read. Exactly. #UXfail
2. When I pointed this out to Claude, it first refused to paste those sources into the thread so I could copy. Then it argued that it had only 7 sources and not the 20 links that it had generated and that I was clearly seeing.
19.09.2025 17:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Problem is, once you end a session with Claude, all the work goes away. So a user is either taken out of immediate flow, or has to copy and paste what's generated for follow up at another time.
19.09.2025 17:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What happened:
1. In an answer, #Claude listed 20 sources in a teeny, tiny drawer with links that can't be copied or downloaded. The link copy was also too small to read.

I am still trying to find the digital copies of the deck and my 2017 explorations. But I jotted a few thoughts here as a starter. I'll add on as I find my notes. :)

The idea in the deck: For a 3rd party, an AI named XOEY, to remain mostly in the background, be called upon when needed, and to step in to facilitate and keep conversations going between a home buyer and their real estate agent.
15.09.2025 18:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Over the weekend, I stumbled upon a 2017 hard copy deck I created that has good thinking on AI in conversational design that's relevant today.
Now I'm on the hunt for the digital copy.
On my dad's birthday, I found myself reflecting on his and my different relationship with design and ways of working.

09.09.2025 18:18 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0@adobe.com why does intrusive #UI on PDF open for an AI activity I won't know if I immediately need?
And why does it take clicks into two areas to get it out of the way? The AI assist is visually prominent in navigation. There's no missing it, so likely not as much need to force UI as you think.
