While it's nice (and expected) that someone should be properly credited in the game you can verify it other ways. A shame that some studios don't do the right thing but that shouldn't stop you from claiming your work.

This is a good take. FWIW, hiring managers will look at your resume/CV, and if you make it to the interview they'll ask questions about what you did at each job. If they're serious about hiring you they'll do a background check and contact one or more previous employers to verify.
