First lightning bug of the summer!

How is it that there's no good tool to migrate a setuptools project to pyproject.toml, while still keeping setuptools as the build backend? Meanwhile, hatch and pdm both have workflows for converting (and thus switching off setuptools). #python

Are they disbanding the faster cpython team?

What?! I don't understand how layoffs like these make sense when the total number of employees each year goes up. What could be the justification?

@brianokken.bsky.social Just listened to your test & code episode on pytest-check. From the episode it seems like it's in the same space as unittest's subtest. There's a pytest-subtests plug-in as well. It would be interesting to hear how these compare. Perhaps in a separate episode?

On mobile Firefox seems to be the issue. Chrome is fine, though.

On the web page the deploy it section is blank for me. I was expecting a terminal preview.
