Let’s try this again it’s a new day. I’m bewildered that no one has answered.

Dear MAGA: why would Donald consider pardoning Maxwell, a sex trafficker for Epstein? Again a reminder, Biden is not president and you guys called for the release of the files repeatedly. So… why?

The Fifth Amendment says due process is due all persons, whether the number eight or eight million.

And if there were a mass-violation exception to the Constitution, why have a constitutional at all?

Perspective | Facebook silences the people who know its operations best Tech giants use nondisparagement clauses to keep former employees from discussing the companies.

2/ In fact, I wrote in 2021 about the challenges of speaking up; how companies try to silence people (again, from personal experience); and why we need more former employees to come forward, even if anonymously through whistleblower complaints, if we want to ever hold them accountable. Gift link:

Being a historian, people ask me if I think the US is living through Germany 1933.

I answer no, analogies are always imperfect but to me it feels more like Russia 1999: a blatant theft of state assets and liberals in a fugue state, refusing to believe the arc of progress is bending against them.

OPINION
HELENE N. WHITE, Circuit Judge. Defendant-Appellant Kim Davis, in her capacity as the clerk of Rowan County, Kentucky, refused to issue a marriage license to Plaintiffs-Appellees David Moore and David Ermold. Plaintiffs sued Davis under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, claiming that Davis violated their constitutional right to marry. After several interlocutory appeals, the district court entered judgment for Plaintiffs on liability and a jury awarded them compensatory damages. Davis now appeals, arguing that she is entitled to qualified immunity, that she has affirmative defenses to liability under the Free Exercise Clause and the Kentucky Religious Freedom Restoration Act, and that Plaintiffs' evidence of their emotional distress was insufficient to support the jury's award. We AFFIRM.
