Dude.... your not alone, just know that. As a fellow game designer and publisher I have the same feelings. But I have made some new friends in the industry here and keep contact with some old ones..

But sadly it is that manipulation that makes them work... you get more engagement and for them, its the only metric

Ya this was in the middle of a convo at a caffisito window.... I was able to capture some of the idea when I got to my car but there is a secrion of the conversation I had with him I cant remeber because ADHD space out

Maybe one will lead to the other, right now current models are "smarter" in many ways then most humans.

Well depends how close of a model of the real world we can create for the AI model to "learn in" then it can do millions of tests before it enters the "real world"

Ya what sets us apart... for now...I dont think AI will replace some jobs just become a tool. But I can think of tons of jobs that will quickly be replaced... there are self adjusting/learning modals in development.

Ya but is that not a distinct advantage in many situations? Like structural engineering for example.

You assume that our minds are always more deliberate, hack, as research continues, the entire idea of free will might be false. Why do some people have an inner voice and others don't. Are people that do have that voice on a different level of consciousness? This is all shaky ground we tread upon.

Wait what do you think we do in our heads? By your logic we "discovered" it as well. We look at a challange we basicly start running algorithms in our head, we have a stream of logic, move 1 leads to move 2 within the confines of the game.

I also kind of suck in debating in this format, I have a billion things going on at once and lose my train of thought (yay ADHD)

You assume it innovate, that move in GO was a new strategy never before recorded. AI has also invented new chess openings now used by humans in comparison. Unless you have some new definition for "create"
