Say โahhโ
14.11.2025 07:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The impression I get is that most people are aware there was an empire but the actual level of knowledge varies hugely.
Maybe it has to do with how it ended, the main perspective I see is essentially โwe gave it all upโ. We didnโt cling to it with long bloody wars like france so it is less felt.
From what I remember when I went up it in 2014 before it was blocked off, the only information up there were labels with basic info for each skeleton. It didnโt really make much sense beyond โhere is iguanodon, here is albertosaurusโ
09.11.2025 12:30 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I hope whenever they do redo the exhibit if they get rid of some of the casts they might distribute them to other UK museums, the UK lacks any other large dinosaur exhibit, most other museums with dinosaurs have a max of around 4 mounts
09.11.2025 07:24 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Better they just recast him and explain the differences as frog DNA
06.11.2025 07:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I really wish the London NHM had more real fossil mounts on display since it is the only place in the UK with more than ~four mounts on display
31.10.2025 17:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Read this as protoceratops babies and for a fraction of a second thought this was like a cuckoo situation
01.10.2025 15:40 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Are there any surviving concepts for these?
26.09.2025 19:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I went and saw the Nottingham exhibition, does that mean the original mount was made of real fossils? I always assumed it was a cast
23.09.2025 11:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What happened to it after the exhibition? Was it the same mount that went on display in London?

10.08.2025 19:52 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Right after Tenerife was a short trip to Tarifa to try and spot killer whales in the Straight of Gibraltar, unfortunately we didnโt see any but we saw longfin pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins, striped dolphins and a sperm whale
#wildlifephotography #whalewatching
Lots of wildlife spotted on holiday in tenerife, from shortfin pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins, caretta sea turtles, parakeets, wall lizards and flying fish
10.08.2025 19:49 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Man I wished it was there when I visited last year!
19.07.2025 20:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Wait, the put in a gryposaurus? Where the chasmosaurus used to be?
19.07.2025 20:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0CORRECTION:
The unidentified beaked whale is more likely to be a bottlenose dolphin breaching at an angle
Now Iโve seen that photo I no longer sure if it was an unidentified beaked whale, looks definitely more like a dolphin compared to the angle it was at when I took my photo (if that is the same one from the early morning of the 10th?)
12.07.2025 10:06 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Cetaceans observed:
- common dolphin
- harbour porpoise
- striped dolphin
- minke whale
- Rissoโs dolphin
- unidentified beaked whale
- Cuvierโs beaked whale
Along with the cetaceans we also saw lots of birds including my first gannet sightings and some spoonbills along the spanish coast and breaching tuna in the english channel
11.07.2025 19:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Amazing trip with @orcaweb.bsky.social across the Bay of Biscay, over 500 cetaceans from at least 7 species were observed, I managed to photograph 6 of them minus the Cuvierโs beaked whale

Wait have they still not figured out avian cloning?
11.07.2025 08:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The human cast almost lines up with the PC human team and the vibe feels the same way. This honestly doesnโt feel like a JP film to me
02.07.2025 22:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0According to the dialogue the Mosasaur is the exact same one from JW that escaped. I suppose this is the true form of the adult ingen mosasaurus
02.07.2025 21:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I liked the Titanosaur scene, we had a reason to see the humans gawk at them for a while without it feeling like an overdone trope, but the Titanosaurs themselves do not fit in the JP aesthetic at all
02.07.2025 21:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0- completely baffles me why they baited us with the raptors for one scene and then the rest of the film were replaced the mutadons which just looked like stock sci fi monsters
02.07.2025 21:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0- The Spinosaurs, T-rex and Mosasaurs were great, I liked the D-rex a lot more than I was expecting to as well
02.07.2025 21:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0- I really liked all of the cast. No one outstayed their welcome and the main trio of Dr Loomis, Zora and Duncan were fun to watch
02.07.2025 21:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0- It pains me to say it though but this movie didnโt really spark anything in me, even Dominion despite its faults left me feeling somewhat warm and fuzzy inside, this one left me leaving the cinema with mixed feelings
