There is an online quiz/challenge to name 1000 dinosaur genera, quite a fun thing I did on my work break www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes...

27.01.2026 12:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It fits so well in dinosaur fossil exhibits and Iโm not sure why
26.01.2026 11:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I propose we now use the term โSouth Canadiansโ to refer to people from the United States

Starting to upload my old art from Twitter, this one is back from 2020 depicting the JP/// Spinosaurus meeting the Disney Dinosaur Carnotaur at a desert river.

31.12.2025 15:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just realised the Triceratops is gone as well, still canโt figure out what the large mount is above number 4
31.12.2025 14:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is great!
Iโm curious about what collection specimens you decided to use, and it looks like you brought back Dippy, would you still have Fern in the garden? Looks like the poor Camarasaurus got fired, I was always fond of it for some reason
Actually addressing the issues people face today should be an open goal to build support but no, having petty squabbles about (insert name) party and being unable to compromise on anything is what they really are focused on doing apparently
17.12.2025 23:59 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Still remember getting this for my birthday back in year 2, great book. Love the way the museum looks on page 1.
Also is that a Ceratosaurus facing off against an ankylosaur on the cover? Always wondered about that
I still donโt get why the things they added warranted a whole new game. Things like custom islands should have been day 1 features, not the third entry in the series
09.12.2025 17:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I really like it when museums put the original fossil next to a full reconstruction, really helps contextualise what it looked like. Would be amazing to see the London NHM do the same with the Scolosaurus

14.11.2025 07:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The impression I get is that most people are aware there was an empire but the actual level of knowledge varies hugely.
Maybe it has to do with how it ended, the main perspective I see is essentially โwe gave it all upโ. We didnโt cling to it with long bloody wars like france so it is less felt.
From what I remember when I went up it in 2014 before it was blocked off, the only information up there were labels with basic info for each skeleton. It didnโt really make much sense beyond โhere is iguanodon, here is albertosaurusโ
09.11.2025 12:30 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I hope whenever they do redo the exhibit if they get rid of some of the casts they might distribute them to other UK museums, the UK lacks any other large dinosaur exhibit, most other museums with dinosaurs have a max of around 4 mounts
09.11.2025 07:24 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Better they just recast him and explain the differences as frog DNA
06.11.2025 07:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I really wish the London NHM had more real fossil mounts on display since it is the only place in the UK with more than ~four mounts on display
31.10.2025 17:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Read this as protoceratops babies and for a fraction of a second thought this was like a cuckoo situation
01.10.2025 15:40 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Are there any surviving concepts for these?
26.09.2025 19:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I went and saw the Nottingham exhibition, does that mean the original mount was made of real fossils? I always assumed it was a cast
23.09.2025 11:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What happened to it after the exhibition? Was it the same mount that went on display in London?
