When your custom character appears in a cut scene

Lest folks think I'm randomly retweeting chaotic swears, this is an allusion to the puerile yet legendary British comic Viz. It was used in several places but Rude Boy (literally, that's the entirety of the premise for this recurring character) probably gave it the heaviest workout.

A little of each. Main party in govt would like to start a defense industry and is probably wary of alienating USD. Foreign Minister leads the minority party that's been bought by every lobbyist, can't see why not Israel too. He's also famously random. Neolib minority party has supported Palestine.

As always, the only reason we haven't experienced the benefits of Trickle Down is that the wealthy aren't wealthy enough. Mmm hmm.

Opinion: Amazon gives up building its own Auckland data centre, as power prices soar The aborted construction of Amazon's west Auckland data centre shows just how much has changed in four years.

Just found it. Iโ€™m so glad thereโ€™s a journalist able to understand these things and ask the right questions.

I don't believe the data center will make any profits here that can be taxed. I'd love to know if that's not the case.

"Boost GDP by $11B," you say? I'd love to see the maths behind that.

There's a lot of one-offs in construction. I imagine they'd import as much of the specialist materials as they can.

Annual component is electricity and water (ffs), and a handful? of engineers?

Thanks for the tip-off. This has been the one time that Hacker News comments were useful. I scanned the comments, figured out that I would be triggered as fuck, and clicked away.

For once the Hacker News triggering wasn't because of AGI crypto boosterism.

Excellent! So how does it work? When you move to Wellington are you automatically assigned a region of the country to make arbitrary decisions for, or do you have to start at the bottom and work your way up from Invercargill and Westport?

The marginal pricing BLEW MY MIND when I first learned about it. The idea that you get paid by the most expensive kW going into the grid. The incentives this creates are great for adding more solar but lousy for actually retiring coal.

I think it says a lot about NZ's Green Party being environment/ecosystem/science based rather than some of the cultural trends in other countries, that the Green Party had the fewest voters who had never had a covid vaccination 0.34%.
32.5% of NZ First voters say they never had a covid vaccination.

The maddest someone has ever gotten at me was when I talked about the child sized manacles Jefferson had at Monticello for 9 year old children. They could not cope with the idea that a child the same age as their child had been enslaved. And it made them angry that I made them know facts

But the fashion is totally a vibe. Sunglasses and hair styles ... I'd have told my kids that I looked like this in the 90s but they saw the photos. We who did real computer shit in the early-to-mid 90s never looked like this.

Orbital was the bomb, tho. Peace, out.
