It surprises me that Scotland has both the shortest and the longest waiting list.

Related question - is it allowed to travel elsewhere for healthcare in Scotland, e.g. Glaswegians travelling to the Edinburgh GIC?

Israelโ€™s ecocide in Gaza sends this message: even if we stopped dropping bombs, you couldnโ€™t live here | George Monbiot Consider the annihilation of agricultural land alongside the genocide โ€“ and grasp the chilling totality of this attempt to eliminate all life, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

When you consider the *ecocide* alongside the genocide being perpetrated in Gaza, you begin to grasp the totality of the Israeli stateโ€™s attempt to eliminate both the Palestinians and their homeland.

Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.

One of the unexpected things I've learned from my advocacy for trans people is how malignant parts of the State can be, how it can misuse data for positively evil purposes. It's taught me people can't be safe with a digital ID card and so I've signed this. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/73...

I don't know of any country that has mandatory digital ID - Many countries issue physical ID cards, but that isn't the same thing at all!

The truth: we need migration.

The problem: too many politicians are terrified to say it.

Why? They're led by a) toxicity of the charlatans & b) wealthy media organisations who demand these useful distractions rather than us talking about inequality.

Reject it. Draw the line.

It's an insane plan, especially when there is such an obvious solution: just give people the healthcare they need, so they don't end up on waiting list that are years long!

Boreholes leaking methane? Not as funny as it sounds | First Dog on the Moon It is in fact actually quite dangerous

Methane leaks are a climate disaster - but one that is relatively cheap and easy to fix. We need to demand politicians force fossil fuel companies to fix the mess they have made, whether the leaks are in the oil, fossil gas, or coal infrastructure!

Even if the costs of eliminating fossil fuels were a net reduction in GDP globally, we should still do it, because we all consider our lives, our safety and our environment to be more important than a weird metric that means nothing to most of us

I'm not convinced there will be - it would require a lot of people in Labour to make a choice that will almost certainly cost them their own jobs.

The UK should join the growing boycott of Eurovision if Israel is allowed to take part.

Eurovision is a celebration of diversity, love and unity. But that's not possible if itโ€™s being used to whitewash genocide.

Israel should be removed as Russia was after its invasion of Ukraine.

It's really sad how @sciencemuseum.org.uk hasn't learned from a few years ago, when I visited their climate exhibition, which was both sponsored by Shell and really far from the science. I'd go as far as saying it was actively trying to divert people from taking the climate crisis seriously.
