If you’re using AI for research, the most important thing is to verify everything.

Make sure the articles it gives say what it claims they do. Make sure the print sources it gives you actually exist. Make sure any events it talks about actually happened.

Agreed. There are no “apolitical” institutions, and pretending the Supreme Court is apolitical is harmful. We should fold their duties into Congress (and abolish the Senate, while we’re at it).

Perhaps you should watch the news? Many Democrats have been playing up the excuses about how Iran was super close to having a nuke.

In the Senate, a member can speak for as long as they want, unless 3/5ths of of the Senate agrees to shut them up. That means 60 Senators, and the Republicans only have 54, so the Democrats are free to filibuster as they please.

And in general, Democratic leaders seem more interested in attacking the left wing of their own party than standing united against Trump.

Many democrats are supporting strikes on Iran, and some (ie Fetterman) are in favor of even further action to support Israeli colonialism.

And no, they can still filibuster on bills that only require a simple majority. If you didn’t know that, it’s your civics knowledge that is “disgraceful”.

They are not consistently voting against Republican bills. The Democratic voting record is extremely divided at the moment.

The leadership is speaking, at best, mildly critically, with major members speaking in support of what Trump is doing on some things.

They can filibuster in the Senate, they can all vote against Republican bills, they can go in the media and speak harshly against what the Republicans are doing.

They aren’t doing any of those things, even though they are totally within their power now.

Feel free to keep voting for spineless “Democrats” who capitulate to whatever Trump does. This isn’t a tankie thing, it’s a “we want an actual opposition party” thing.

Yes, helping people for selfish reasons is still better than not helping at all.

That’s the fun thing about governments. They can do whatever they want as long as all the parts of the government agree on it.

I understand hesitance, but you must realize that forcing a child to go through with a puberty that they don’t want is also altering their body, and that alteration cannot be undone. That is why the medical community so strongly supports informed consent, even for minors.

Denying access to healthcare is one of the most evil things a person can do, especially when doing so will cause irreversible harm.

We need to vigilantly fight for universal access to gender affirming care, regardless of age, to ensure that trans people can live their best possible lives.
