Lovely poem. Really like “ancestral stories ‧ spoken to none,
a patchy picture, parish records
that mice and mould ‧ have managed to chew,
a legacy of legend ‧ that lessens to myth”

So many evocative images. I'm especially struck by this one:
“…the line of trees / Along the edge of the field, signaling nothing but a windbreak / To the next horizon.” Beautiful!

Writers and artists take note.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

Oh yikes! At least you’ll have a fun review to write.

Great poem. We have certainly experienced our share of returning to a beloved destination to find it's not the same...and neither are we.

WIP or not, so many great lines and images and feelings in this one. Pictures of Jesus and Mary "parading cheap cartoon / certainties." Love it!

Love this, Jude. "Washed up actors on unwelcoming shores" is a great line, and the flow to a darkening of war that is always repeating itself. Really great poem.
