Think of all the federal workers & military personnel who won’t be paid….none of the social security tax they would have had withheld from their paychecks are not being sent to SSA during the shutdown down. Also the employer portion is not being paid in….it seems to be ok with this f’d up President.

Not the employee portion but the employer portion as a way to get the attention of republicans to get back to work. Not sure what other money blue states send the federal government that they could use as leverage.

Employers can’t hold or redirect employee taxes withheld from their paychecks (fed & state withholding tax, FICA, Medicare, local tax) but since every employer must match the employee’s FICA & Medicare tax plus pay in Federal Unemployment Insurance Tax (FUTA), why not redirect those taxes?

But why on earth should private companies step up & do the job of the government? The money is available for SNAP benefits…trump is refusing to release them so that the democrats get blamed for people starving because of the shut down. Nobody should be covering for Trump.

Wait….when was he sidelined during the election? I saw him giving speeches nearly every single day on the news. He wasn’t the presidential candidate & wasn’t that well known nationally but we all certainly got to know him during the campaign. VP candidates don’t usually get huge exposure.

Think of it as tourism ad dollars well spent. I’ve never been to Canada but my family & I are making plans for our vacation & these very well done ads played a major part of making Canada our unanimous choice! It’s embarrassing how Trump has behaved towards Canada & their leaders.

Oh I agree completely! Still, there is no proof where these folks in the boats were heading, who they are, what is in their boats. The penalty for being in a boat off the coast of Venezuela in international waters is NOT death by U.S. Navy.
