@caseynewton.bsky.social I really enjoyed this weekβs podcast. I wondered what you think as a food lover about my experience that Medium editors titled βis this the worst Michelin starred restaurant in the world?β

Yup! Postcode lottery at its finest!
06.04.2025 17:07 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Brilliant that people power has made sure the proposed changes have been scrapped! It does make me wish we had the same in Northern Ireland. Ludicrous that itβs another example of your UK post code being a difference in how youβll be treated if you need an ADHD diagnosis.
06.04.2025 17:02 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0π ADHD cowboy sounds like a great movie. A busted big toe means I havenβt ran since I started meds and hoping to get back to it in a week or two, so havenβt experienced that yet.
23.02.2025 13:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Titration is such a weird experience trying to figure out what a right dose for you is when youβre not sure what that feels like!
23.02.2025 12:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I am really looking forward to getting back to 40mg this week!
23.02.2025 11:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why won't GPs enter into Shared Care Agreements for those going through private diagnosis for ADHD?
Thereβs reasons, but spoiler alert, it feels more about π°
Meanwhile, untreated ADHD costs society billions. Make it make sense π

Thank you @irishnews.com for interviewing me on the ADHD crisis in the North

Never a great idea to talk about religion in Northern Irelandβ¦ but hereβs my take on religion and autism from a personal lens.

My favourite dishes of 2024. First, a crab taco from Enrico Bartolini at Mudec, Milan; a dish of scallop, sea urchin and caviar at Mercado do BolhΓ£o, Porto; Wicklow venison at Ox Restaurant, Belfast and finally oysters in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
31.12.2024 14:37 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks for the shout out!
27.12.2024 21:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Wondering how to make Christmas more inclusive for your loved one? Letβs unwrap some ideas for a more thoughtful December.
24.12.2024 07:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wish you the best too.
15.12.2024 23:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0so far this year and I've made Β£150 in subscriptions so I'm down over a grand. I didn't set it up to monetise and don't really have plans to either. The day I do begin to monetise it, however, is the day I will start paying people.
15.12.2024 17:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0On this point, to be 100% transparent, I set up the site because I wanted a place where people could write their own stories to get a balance of experience, not just my own (aka a middle aged white straight male). It's what I craved when I got a diagnosis. Setting the site up has cost me Β£1300
15.12.2024 17:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Not my intention to come across as comparing the size of our autism!
15.12.2024 17:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So much of that resonates! I had people say same about me being a 'social butterfly'. One of my friends also said a phrase you used to the letter in your article βyouβre not just autistic, youβre autistic as fuckβ, when I told him I'd got a diagnosis and he wondered how I'd only realised at 47. π
15.12.2024 15:21 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also if you're ever interested in writing about your own experience on themoment.blog, let me know! Trying to make it a place where many people can write about their own journey (mostly from not finding a site that had the detail/focus on concepts that I craved when I got a diagnosis this year).
15.12.2024 13:21 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Always comes down to what works for you! Though now you say this I might write some stories and do some baking π
15.12.2024 10:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0That was hardest thing for me even with having a structure around work etc. there doesnβt seem to be much content out there talking about the positive impact, so I struggled to understand what to expect!
15.12.2024 10:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I wasnβt sure outside of side effects whether it was working for me. I really struggled to understand how it was helping. Last week I forgot to take meds with me on a two-day trip to London. Thatβs when I realised the difference it was making.
15.12.2024 10:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If it helps, I had the same thing, but after about a week it settled down. I moved to 40mg and then had a shorter period of similar side effects. But 7 weeks in now, most of them are gone. This is a bit over dramatic to make a point but I wrote about it here:

Not much of a shock given today the BBC was still airing βWalliams & Friendβ on CBeebies doing an apparently βfunnyβ take on Masterchef from David Walliams π
01.12.2024 22:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0*have to ask that question
30.11.2024 22:01 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think the answer probably should be when you ask that question!
30.11.2024 22:01 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Listening to @kevinroose.com and @caseynewton.bsky.socialβs latest episode on 100 most iconic technologies made me think about which tech was the most pivotal for younger me. AOL IM was definitely it. I have nostalgia for the dial up noise, the chats and the βyouβve got mailβ message. Whatβs yours?
30.11.2024 21:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Day 14: ADHD meds, caffeine withdrawals, and gonzo vibes. βπ
Starting ADHD treatment feels like stepping into a Hunter S. Thompson story - chaos, clarity, and a touch of the surreal. From pounding headaches to the weird saga of sleep (or lack thereof), itβs been a ride. π’
