for all that it’s worth, I hate almost everything about these books but I also found them really fun to read so who’s to say if they’re really good or bad

But also you’d have to have actually read the series to know about that. I assume most of the people acting like it’s over the top horny and that’s the problem either haven’t read the books at all or are like next level prudes.

There’s plenty to actually criticize about the series. Chiefly, it is full of inconsistencies and retcons and their are some “I don’t think the author realized this was problematic but it’s definitely a bit problematic” moments and also sometimes it’s just really dumb.

Not really. There’s like ~75 pages worth of sex scenes spread out over ~2900 pages.

But they do have sex in them and they’re popular with women which is a whole problem for some people in and of itself.

I've been playing Slay the Princess this weekend and wow is that game way fucking weirder (complimentary) than I thought it was going to be. Big recommend if you like branching choice-based games. However much you know about it, stop there. Best to go in as blind as possible.

I think about that all the time. There’s no way you could see a kid in front of you or even a smaller adult from the driver’s seat of one of those ungodly behemoths. I really think they should be banned.

Honestly even “I did it because it was fun” would be good. “It’s fun” is a perfectly good reason to write something!

It’s almost as if there are established word counts for different lengths of stories and a general consensus that a story needs to be at least novella length to really be considered a book. If it’s too short for print, it’s too short to call a book.
