It looks like the school also has gender-specific dress requirements for certain traditional ceremonies / events. The handbook says that they'll try to work with students, but still seems kind of 🤮 for non-binary kids.

And then there's the whole, "Well why would you care if you/your kid's not trans?"

How institutions treat trans folks is a really good barometer to how they treat all folks, especially in any situation outside of the "expected norm." And even if not, should I give my money to support hate?

For additional context: This is probably the most inclusive accredited private high school in the area. The local public school system is problematic in other ways due to state law and the current DoE complaints against any district not sufficiently bigoted enough.

The School has numerous bathrooms and locker rooms assigned by sex (male & female). The school also has single-stall restrooms/changing areas and a gender-neutral bathroom. Students may choose to use the bathroom/locker room of the sex that they were assigned at birth, or the single-stall or gender-neutral bathrooms. Questions and concerns should be addressed to the appropriate division director.

So I'm looking at private schools right now in a red state wonderland, and one school seems to have rather inclusive language, but prohibits using a sex-assigned bathroom for trans kids (while providing gender-neutral spaces). I'm honestly not sure how problematic this is.
