There are four Scots on the Gaza flotilla โ€“ so why is our media ignoring it? THERE are four Scottish citizens taking part in the Global Sumud Flotilla, but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at Scotland's front pages.

There are four Scots on the Flotilla. We are in touch with them all, as well as their families - as they expect Israel to intercept the boats tonight.

Video feed from the boat just went down as I typed this

Baroness Mohan just complained about an โ€œestablishment cover upโ€after a court judgement against her.
She really hasnโ€™t a clue. How on earth do self entitled people like her get anywhere near being in Government? Good advert for abolishing the unelected House of Lords in its present form though

Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time โ€“ almost 200 years earlier than predicted โ€“ following the Mayorโ€™s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

Nigel Farage doesnโ€™t think the Prime Minister should have free speech in this country. But heโ€™ll tell foreigners that yours is somehow under threat from the Prime Minister. Heโ€™s a whiny little liar. Always has been. Always will be.

Genuinely baffled by Keir Starmer's refusal to describe Nigel Farage as a racist.

The evidence for this is overwhelming. The founder of UKIP, Alan Sked, quit the party because of Farage's racism.

The far right won't be defeated unless we are honest about what it is.

"It's completely different to say we're going start removing people who are lawfully here.

Stickers and bits of paper can easily get lost of stolen. But I donโ€™t understand why anyone is using stickers nowadays. Surely people with such status could easily be given a code or similar ? Are we really relying on stickers in the 21st century ?

Iโ€™ve decided no such thing. I like the idea of ID cards in themselves.
I just think itโ€™s a huge mistake linking ID the introduction of ID cards directly to immigration. And evidence shows that none of the other so called fixes have worked so far.

27.09.2025 08:22 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

So we already have digital ID after all then. As I said , ID cards are useful but the mistake is linking it to immigration, although it is highly amusing that the far right seem opposed to the idea in that context

27.09.2025 08:15 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Maybe not but Iโ€™ve certainly had problems. And itโ€™s more proving your address than anything else since passports donโ€™t contain that information. And in any case we already have a lot of stuff like Power of Attorney requiring you to go on Government Gateway so whatโ€™s the difference ?

27.09.2025 08:12 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It will make no difference.Digital passports were also supposed to โ€œcontrol our bordersโ€ as was Brexit. What makes anyone think this will make any difference to illegal activity? Except maybe more crime as you can guarantee some fake ones will appear for sale on the internet a week after launch day

27.09.2025 08:08 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 5    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The real mistake was linking the two.
ID cards are very useful and much better than โ€œchoose two documents from the listโ€ to prove your address which include archaic things like council rent books , paper phone bills and non digital bank statements which virtually no one has any more.

27.09.2025 08:02 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 17    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 3    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Unfortunately we do. Thereโ€™s a hell of a lot of things which need proof of ID nowadays.
I donโ€™t have a driving licence and am not the bill payer.
Proving my ID and address for a simple thing like telling the Post Office Id like my mail redirected was virtually impossible
