I love the straight forward adventure here.
The setting is perfect, & some genuinely creepy moments with the Cybermen.
Ruby is great.
The 7th Doctor feels like his TV self for the first time in a while.
Just so many fun Doctor Who moments to enjoy!
Love it!

Overall some lovely moments but too many stupid moments for my tastes
Average score: 3.14

Oh, and yes, that speech is literally up next to my desk at work.
And yes, I was a bit miffed that the Doctor kinda butchered it and missed out the point.

Always been a big fan of this Davo!
First saw it during the 1988 omnibus repeat run (so had off air copy then) when close ups of the melting Terileptil were cut!
Quite shocked when I bought the VHS & saw them!

I think it has more good moments and ideas than it's often given credit for, but I know when I do watch it I'm reminder of how many bad bits it has as well, which is a shame.

Something TNG does very well are those regular "not a classic, but enjoyable" eps.
Especially seasons 4/5 when they're really cooking.

That's an interesting perspective - I hadn't thought of it that way!
But given A Private Little War is one of the absolute worst eps of the original series, appropriate this one is also terrible!

I really disliked ep 2, but eps 3 and 4 weren’t bad at all.

That's a very fair take, IMO.

It's a very strong story, let down by the Myrka and the Silurian costumes.
Sets and model work look great!
And the bright lights just look like the future to me, plus allow the contrast when they go to missile run.
Yes, very interested to see what they do with it.

It's interesting, but never really been engaged by it.

I dunno, it's one of the rare examples of something being so bad I'm kinda here for it! The insanity of the concepts and the production designs, and just totally fake word building, is just... kinda glorious to behold!

One of the highlights of the season!
A strong adventure with a good central villain and interesting mystery.
Just a shame that, as you say, it relies on the bridge crew being *really* stupid & Picard being a dick.
Wesley was right, though!

I've never really got this one, I'm afraid. Yeah, it's nice seeing Picard loosen up a little but doesn't really engage me.

As is the actor overtly scanning the carpet for his marks!

We've released episodes on four Series C stories in the last 2-3 months, and - whilst we've certainly had some critical points to make here and there - we've found a lot more positives than we expected!
Where do you stand on the first half of Blake's 7's 3rd season?

Schisms is a wonderful epsiode! One of my favourites, & it still holds up really well.

And I love the holodeck scene, but, the moment when "make this a metal table" jumps to a full surgical bench makes me laugh every time!!
