Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

Last Saturday my little community raised $10,000 for Feeding America, which they turn into 100,000 meals. I run a meme account and have done more for the hungry in this country than the president, who is intentionally starving women and children for no reason.

We all need to fight Trump's plan for voter suppression and election subversion. We need to recognize that it has multiple dimensions. We need to educate ourselves and our communities and then take action.

At the very least, Speaker Johnson should keep the House open. Crazy how they’re getting paid for doing nothing while essential workers bust their asses for nothing. “Paid later” doesn’t cover gas, rent, or bills. This whole mess is straight-up unacceptable.
