Beardy dark humour. Goes with territory. A newer, better me. Dr of Forensic Science. Never ask for medical advice. My discipline is for AFTER you are dead. Technical photography stuff. Laser Scanning stuff.

07.08.2025 23:33 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I often think of the dialation effect of a lazy Sunday afternoon all stretched out before suddenly snapping you back right into a Monday morning.
07.08.2025 22:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't blame you. Would I do it now? Nope! π
This is before I had a redhead barrelling into my life, turning it upside down, inside out and gifting me 3 children. I have to be careful, cos I'm old and fragile, says my eldest.
I was young and dumb.
07.08.2025 21:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Basically. With a couple of straps latched round me. Side door locked back. Used to do it out of police helicopters, before they got all elf n safety π
07.08.2025 21:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0So we spent 20 mins buzzing over his place photographing about 10 tanks he'd driven out and put in formation. Then, with pinpoint precision, he landed his helicopter back on the platform and it did away back into his shed. Nuts π€£
07.08.2025 21:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, he gave me a spin. He'd a remote control & the doors opened & his helicopter came sliding out on a platform. Not a small one either. He climbed in looking like he'd slept the night in a biffa bin, "You getting in?" Course I did. "Want your house photoing?"
"Fuck that. The tanks in the yard!"
I remember a guy who was millionaire who collected and restored American tanks. Basically had a warehouse at the bottom of his garden (alongside his helicopter shed) full of tanks he'd rebuilt. Asked if he'd sell them, "You know how much swearing and blood spilt went into these? Never" π
07.08.2025 21:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh yes. It's in the credits of several. Got signed copies too somewhere.
07.08.2025 20:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One of the books the pics went into. Still being sold 20 years on.

07.08.2025 20:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are plenty of collectors over here in the UK. There was one who had a 50calibre machine gun in his spare bedroom, that was licenced as a shotgun, because it was a smooth-bore firearm π
07.08.2025 20:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0General overview and then all the technical details. It was for a publisher. I gained permission to visit several armouries to photograph and document it all.
07.08.2025 20:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sat with an aged former US Marine tonight who presumed (being British) I would not know anything about firearms or weaponry. I got my tablet out and showed him a catalogue of WW1 & WW2 US Marine Corp weaponry and uniforms that I'd photographed meticulously nearly 20 years ago. He loved it.
07.08.2025 20:26 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0He has no concept of how long it takes to build a chip plant and get it up to speed. Around 5 years and approximately $10 billion of investment. But, that's outside of the US. Inside, probably three times as much considering the moron has put tariffs up on everything.
06.08.2025 22:21 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Children need to play. I threw my kids outside to play on the cul de sac. People complained about the noise and the coloured chalk drawings on MY driveway.
06.08.2025 11:53 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I think that could have been the more sensible career decision.
Today I think I could actually hear 20 adults screaming internally for 2 hours.
We had a lecture today about how to convert decimals into binary, then into hexadecimals, from hexadecimals into binary, from binary into hexadecimals, then all back into decimals and then had a graded 20Q pop quiz.
What fun.
I believe they're thinking of an improved radioisotope thermoelectric generator or several linked to reach the 100kw electrical output that they want. The weight of the last one was 400kg to reach 600watts output, but 30,000watts of heat output. Not very efficient. Needs a lot of development
05.08.2025 20:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I could have included all those various alternatives in the description π
05.08.2025 18:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Have we been left behind in the ponzi/money laundering/dark money schemes?
05.08.2025 09:01 β π 39 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Now hear me out...
04.08.2025 20:29 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I fallen into the backrooms. I've walked down this corridor for hours.
04.08.2025 05:59 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, it is. But, I couldn't fit gammon-brained simpleton fuckwits in at the end of the post.
03.08.2025 23:22 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0When the cat comes to you for a spin, so you spin and spin with her and set her down on the ground to walk drunk on 4 legs and fall over, then she comes back to you to do it again.
No, puss. Three times is my max.
I do believe this government has gained the trust of many European leaders recently, mainly by constuctively communicating and cooperating with them, especially over defence of Europe (now the US is having its midlife crisis) and Ukraine. So very different from the former bunch of blowhards.
03.08.2025 23:03 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Look, if he rants long enough, fires enough highly competent people and hires enough utter morons in their place, it'll all come good in the end.
03.08.2025 22:56 β π 11 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Where there's a will, there's a way.
03.08.2025 22:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0It's linguistic decay. Shortening words is equivalent to wearing sweatpants and a curry stained t-shirt to a public debate. I fully see by 2040 that people will orally communicate using gesticulation and foreshortened grunts. The SMS of spoken discourse.
