Go Mamdani!
There is no universe in which this is defensible.

Hope I can figure it out haha

06.08.2025 06:46 β π 204 π 29 π¬ 68 π 5This, of course, comes after Tim Cook personally donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund.
Since then Apple has received tariff exemptions.
We're witnessing blatant crony capitalism. www.theverge.com/news/737757/...
I'd post a picture of Tim Cook sucking up to Donald Trump to make Apple fans feel a little guilty, but their loyalty knows no bounds - they're probably registering as Republicans today π€£
07.08.2025 20:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My problem (I think?) is I want to support interpreted languages like js or py, and I thought they don't have access to the low level import/export functions - the runtime engine has to expose it in some way.
07.08.2025 16:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nice! What are some of your favorite alternative apps? Is it using smaller companies, self hosting, or something else?
I figure most small companies without some sort of enforceable commitment will eventually enshittify haha
At one of the most toxic startups I worked at, it took me two years to realize that the CFO/HR person was married to the CEO
They constantly argued about everything. I thought they hated each other π
perfection, no notes. vibe coding at its very best
05.08.2025 15:41 β π 40 π 7 π¬ 4 π 0I'm interested in 2 other things:
1. Allowing users to write in any language (Python, Ruby, etc)
2. Extism takes about 6 seconds to compile to wasm, and I'd like a faster feedback loop for devs.
I built a reload function that evals code, but it's pretty hacky and occasionally crashes haha
Thanks! That was a great read! I've been looking at options for a wasm plug-in library for a web app and somehow compenentizejs never came up. The closest I could find was extism (using quickjs runtime), and it seems so segfault randomly haha
05.08.2025 21:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I got the boox air 4 c last month to have a nice slow tech feeling. There are soo many trade offs with these devices!
I gave in and installed gboard π I set up a back gesture but no idea if it works for every app.
On the plus side, lots of reading, and writing a bit of code on eink feels great!
My solution: always fuΓ π€£ Maybe I'd use estaba if it was something I did as a kid haha
I've got a long way to go...
Hah! I tried an open source AI coding tool to try to get me over the hump of boilerplate for me tasks. (aider in case anyone is curious)
On the first run, it created 10 files and almost committed to git. I closed it immediately - these tools give AI way too much access from the start!
More founders/indie developers should self-host their apps.
It's not that difficult and it'll save you $$$!
This article teaches you how to self-host like a pro with Dokku and Hetzner.

I would appreciate some votes for apply.coop to get more eyeballs on the site. Also boost this so more folks find out about it.

To see something so brilliant, as wonderful as Miyazakiβs work be butchered to generate something so foul.
God I hope Studio Ghibli sues the hell out of Open Ai for this.
I want money for building stuff to truly benefit humanity. We're both f'd π€£

How about you? Is maynu still doing well? Is saas boilerplate your primary focus?
Not working on nor learning anything right now π
The Vidds buyers are finishing up migrating their data to their own servers soon so I can shut it down.
Gotta get back into the tinker mindset to find new fun projects.
Yeah and I'm following a bit of political stuff here. On the fediverse, I would see the same horrible news posted/boosted 10 different times and it was so negative, I stopped wanting to scroll haha
21.02.2025 23:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I blame you! Jk mastodon was getting a bit boring with way too much depressing political content and I wanted more indie hacker stuff!
