My problem (I think?) is I want to support interpreted languages like js or py, and I thought they don't have access to the low level import/export functions - the runtime engine has to expose it in some way.

2. Extism takes about 6 seconds to compile to wasm, and I'd like a faster feedback loop for devs.

I built a reload function that evals code, but it's pretty hacky and occasionally crashes haha

Thanks! That was a great read! I've been looking at options for a wasm plug-in library for a web app and somehow compenentizejs never came up. The closest I could find was extism (using quickjs runtime), and it seems so segfault randomly haha

I got the boox air 4 c last month to have a nice slow tech feeling. There are soo many trade offs with these devices!

I gave in and installed gboard 😕 I set up a back gesture but no idea if it works for every app.

Hah! I tried an open source AI coding tool to try to get me over the hump of boilerplate for me tasks. (aider in case anyone is curious)

On the first run, it created 10 files and almost committed to git. I closed it immediately - these tools give AI way too much access from the start!

More founders/indie developers should self-host their apps.

It's not that difficult and it'll save you $$$!
