Little Haiti is vibrant. And it’s facing the same cost of living crisis as neighborhoods across the city.

That's why Brooklyn Chair Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn and I are bringing the Democratic Party together around a shared vision for an affordable New York. I am grateful for her endorsement!

the singular message of this ad is "zohran loves new york city" and it is incredibly effective

The Oloffson wasn't just a Graham Greene backdrop. It was an incredible art space, a queer space, a space of worship, a space of refuge, a space of gossip, a space of protest, a rare space where multiple worlds intersected and sweat and danced and drank rum together. It was purposefully destroyed.

I'll remember the Oloffson as a sanctuary. Whatever was happening outside its walls -- riot, election, flood -- you could always sit on the old Marine solarium and a take deep breath. Eat some food, drink rum or a Prestige, and meet anyone from anywhere, on their own terms and yours.

Repoze an pè.

This is shattering. The Oloffson wasn't just a hotel. Not even just a landmark or historic site. It was a spiritual home for thousands of people over the years, Haitian and foreigner, including me.

all of this is downstream of the president's (and stephen miller's) obvious racial animus toward haitians!

Haiti gets left behind in so many of these conversations and it's a fucking travesty of inhumanity and also how deeply ungrateful because they were the first true western-style Republic in the world

Trump ends TPS for Haitians. More than a half-million people now face deportation Trump ends TPS for Haitians; over a half million now face deportation

DHS claims Haiti is β€œsafe enough” to end TPS, but the State Dept warns Americans not to travel due to kidnappings and crime. The Trump Admin is actively lying to justify ending TPS amid a deadly humanitarian crisis.

This is a deliberate act of cruelty.

Haiti is so safe right now that Erik Prince is carrying out lethal drone strikes with no oversight from anyone (because there has effectively been no government since the still-unsolved assassination of the last president four years ago) theracket.news/p/mr-prince-...
