Why are you βunsureβ about proscription of Palestine Action?
Has Labour been inconsistent? Is it slippery slope until we no longer have the right to protest? Is it a waste of resources arresting hundreds of pensioners?
All of the above?

And scrapped it straight off, not when thereβs a deputy leader role up for grabs or because Starmerβs ratings are so desperately low.

ok, so this βLabourβ party floats your boat. It doesnβt float mine.
Iβm a brown Muslim woman - so maybe thatβs why I see division that you choose not to.
βclamping down on those who're stirring up hatred isn't "divisive crap"β
Im guessing you might be thinking Palestine Action?? Uff.
How is their stance on Gaza wilfully misrepresented?
Are any of the following untrue?:
- Starmer wonβt publicly admit a genocide committed
- Israel has imported weapons from the UK
- Palestine Action is now a proscribed terririst organisation
The speech in isolation may have been tolerable. Against the background of all the other divisive crap coming from Starmer and his Labour it was wholly grim.
08.10.2025 08:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0It was the timing, his reaction to the response to the speech, the layers of actions and words prior to that. Itβs not a party for people like me evidently.

well, the island of strangers speech was pretty grim - whole thing, not just the headline.
Itβs more than tone actually, itβs action. stance on Gaza, treatment of BAME MPs - Apsana Begum, Faiza Shahee, Diane Abbott - Batley & Spen, Trevor Philips, shaking off the fleas, bleating on about patriotism
Dadβs books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending itβs their own fault. So I hope Kemiβs taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

They are not unrecognisable, but theyβre pretty unpalatable. Itβs not just about their policies - itβs their tone, itβs what they sayβ¦and what they donβt.
It may sound overdramatic but I cannot see myself voting for them any time soon.
Edited stills from the avengers movie. Keir Starmer: it is unbritish to go to a protest on October 7th. Mark Ruffalo: that's my secret chief... I'm always unbritish.
Tfw your being called unbritish because you're opposing a genocide.

the Headington Hamburger Roundabout is decked out - 24 flags yesterday. Apparently itβs not a crime though. Nice.
Are our friendly flag-happy fashes not on CCTV which Iβd imagine is all over the roundabou?
Yes, weβre agreeing. Why are there people who canβt see that? Who is telling them that immigrants are the biggest enemy? And whoever it is, why is it in their interest to do so? Flags are a symbol of frustration - fanned byβ¦?
I have my own theories. What do you reckon?
How is the competition they face for work unfair? Genuinely, give me some examples of jobs that people are desperate for but are failing to get because of immigrants? I know of tradesmen who are peeved that theyβre being undercut by tradesmen from Eastern Europe for example but what else?

No-one actually hates the flag, including Gary Neville. But people are putting them up to send a message that certain ppl arenβt welcome here. Itβs meant to be intimidating & it makes the flag an ugly thing

Wish I could say I was shocked, but here's the Labour government constraining the right to peaceful protest again...
'You can protest but only according to our rules. The rules are: you're not allowed to use any of the tactics that make protest effective.'

The racists in the UK are the ones saying that you shouldnβt protest 53 Palestinians being murdered because two Jewish people were also murdered on the same day.
Some of us can condemn both.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social : "I think its really problematic if someone is trying to weaponise the attack that happened yesterday to try and silence protest in this country against the genocide. They're separate issues.. we need to be clear what this govt is doing"
