TBH I never felt like Jeff Cobb fit in when he had matches in AEW. He seemed like a Rhyno with a better moveset & less charisma. Perfectly solid worker, just never popped as super-compelling.

Better Call Saul was a GREAT process show, especially in its early pre-Saul Jimmy McGill episodes. It showed the most unsexy parts of the legal process: late nights with piles of paperwork, rifling through endless case law, & going back-and-forth with colleagues over assembling an argument.

Great piece! I’m Latino & both loved Eddie Guerrero, but hated, “Lie, Cheat, & Steal”. I firmly believe there is no way the persona that Swerve Strickland created, (which is the most uniquely crafted character in the artform today) could’ve flourished in WWE as he has in AEW. Total agreement.

I’d already be a lifetime fan of Ms. Bassett, (an all-time acting talent) but I waited on her several times at a shop she frequented & she’s an absolute delight. A genuinely nice, down-to-earth lady without an ounce of pretension. She’s a real-life queen & I will hear none speaking ill of her.

Yeah because telling people what to do isn’t annoying. Maybe let up on that big guy.

Also, being a fed fan & a loud liberal is a huge conflict of interest. Maybe work on that.

lol oddly enough, Schneider is one of the few comedians, “of a certain age” whom I haven’t worked with. I’d like to keep that way tbh.

I did get to see Sandler workshop his, “100% Fresh” special at my home club & he was amazing. I barely ever laugh at stand-up & I hurt from laughing the next day.

I had kinda just been lurking on here, but reading thoughtful, informed posts critical of WWE without an army of blank profile pic e-drone trolls descending with their elementary school-level insults & their McMahonwashing propaganda really makes me hopeful this is the place.

All-time great movie art. That image is seared into my brain from old zines & Forbidden Planet was too expensive for my local UHF station to run on tv when I was a kid, so I didn’t actually see the movie until I was an adult. Never forgot that art though.

Total agreement. I feel like there was a lot of wasted potential in-ring with him. Had all the tools & yet some undefined backstage gossip seemed to de-rail his career. He’s done some acting work since.

Great Moments in Stand-Up History:

HBK vs Shelton Benjamin on Monday Night Raw in Boston remains the greatest 1-on-1 match I’ve ever seen in person. Shawn’s run after healing his body & soul was nothing short of spectacular with every single match.

This one would tear the house down. Also, specifically post-rehab Shawn Michaels 2.0 vs. Orange Cassidy, International Champion.

This reminded me that I have the OC figure with a Best Friends t-shirt & I need to upgrade. The dark denim/black t-shirt one is coming out soon, but that one has the International Championship, which preceded his run as Emo OC. I’m a stickler for details.

Thank you! We got out right before the mandatory evacuation took effect. We could immediately see the fire within minutes of it starting from where we live. Terrifying & surreal, but we grabbed some necessities & bolted. Staying with friends way outside the fire zones at the moment.

Never thought my 1st post here would be to say my family has safely evacuated our home from the Eaton Canyon fire, but here we are. As of right now, entire blocks of our town: homes, businesses, schools, churches & everything in the fire’s path is either burning or ash. We’re ok & hope you are too.
