It is insane that “terrorizing children and kidnapping nannies and landscapers” is considered essential, but keeping planes from falling out of the sky is a “nice-to-have” for this regime

I winced at the person who said (more or less) “what more do ‘they‘ want from us?.” Could be my right-leaning relatives. Sometimes “they” are LBGTQ people, sometimes “they” are the parents of brown and Black kids, or disabled kids. The propaganda says “they” aren’t people, citizens, equals.

They sound surprisingly contemporary. Interview Republican voters today about the Voting Rights Act and they would probably say the same kinds of things. (“If they really wanted to vote they’d wake up earlier/live somewhere more expensive.”)
