I have labor and environmental objections but my understanding is streaming video is still more of a resource drain than AI. My labor objections have to do with taking the work of others without payment but mostly boils down to the evil social relations of this tech.

I agree that the social relations of the AI companies are fucked up but no more fucked up than the rest of big tech. The AI tools themselves are useful in some ways but they are WAY overhyped.

All the AI programs I use are horrible at attributing quotes. They will lie with gusto again and again.

I thought the push towards American manufacturing would give Labor new leverage but Trump seems willing to crush Labor and nationalize businesses. In the face of a militant strike wave would Trump simply declare a national emergency and force all unions out?

If higher ed institutions really cared about teaching they would give tenure track and non-tenure track faculty a semester off to prepare new classes so they could really pour themselves into the content and preparation.
