I'm a global luxury traveler (I know this is a brag, but it's relevant here) and I would not go to the Gulf states to save my life. It's for a despicable kind of person. There is *extremely* little to see, except a society oriented in a repellent way.

The bicibΓΊs: how Barcelona got kids cycling safely to school – and loving it! In the city’s fast-moving traffic, the bicibΓΊs (bike bus) provides sanctuary for cycling children – and turns the school run into a party

Barcelona! They have bicycle "buses" going to and from school, all the little kids on their bikes being led by adults to keep an eye on them as they ride to school

Do...you think there are no children in New York City? There are kids everywhere. There are playgrounds, schools, afterschool activities, summer camps, kids on subways with their parents or siblings or babysitters, kids in museums and restaurants and plays and the library and...

Guys, every person you see on Fox News in a mask is just Robert O'Neill, retired Navy Seal and occasional Fox News contributor. He's the former Antifa, former Gazan, former gang member. His eyes are very unique.

I certainly hope not, that would suck. It felt more like a rush job than an AI job, but what do I know. Or "design by committee", like she got a lot of notes from different beta readers and incorporated *all* of them.

Mad respect for the Guinness descendant who wrote Rafferty into the story simply because she wanted to see a hot shirtless guy on her teevee. Me too, sister.

How Much of β€˜House of Guinness’ Is Based on Real History? Consider this your official guide to what actually happened to the Guinness family at the center of a new Netflix series.

Esquire has it covered

Is any of #HouseOfGuinness based in reality or is this 100% a Steven Knight fever dream?

This book was so awful. It read like something written on AO3 by a 16 year old. Huge dropoff from the last two I read by her (and the second of those was a bit dropoff form the first). Its like she had a contract to write a book and was like "well shit, here's some words" and called it a day.

I just don't buy this love affair, there was no lead-up, no get to know you, no tension, they met and then boom they're all moon-eyed for each other.

Seems to be doing well! The last few films I've seen there have had good crowds, and they've had a bunch of authors there in partnership with the Harvard Bookstore and Porter Square Books, I'm seeing Cory Doctorow tomorrow and Ken Liu next week.

Apparently people are sharing a more innocent post of the Charlie Kirk 'meme' claiming that's what the ban was for. Luckily, the protocol is public.

The one that caused the ban: pdsls.dev/at://did:plc...

The one in reply to something else with more innocent alt text:

My souvenirs from the last two trips (Tassie devil not to scale with the quokka I got on Rottenest Island, obvs.) I need to go back if only to add to my collection of stuffed marsupials.

Oh word! Now I feel stupid. I desperately want to go back, I wish I'd spent more time there and less in Melbourne -- which was fine, but I've been to nice cities before and Tasmania was like being on another planet. This is more motivation to go back maybe next year.

The more specific it is, the more I am inclined to believe it especially if it's a b- or c-tier celebrity.
