If you don't have 2FA enabled, then you need to know that Xbox 360 can't deal with passwords that are longer than 16 characters. You'll either need a shorter password, or enable 2FA and log in using an app password. Note: the right answer here is always "enable 2FA," please, keep your account safe!

Use that app password in the password field. Hint, if you need to sign into a Zune, this is the way to do that too.

The most common one is that you have two-factor authentication enabled on your account. The Xbox 360 doesn't know anything about 2FA! You'll need to use an "app password" instead of your actual password. Go to account.microsoft.com > Security > Manage how I sign in > Create a new app password
