We are all a mush mash of facts any & all of which may be our "identity" at different times.
Being female in a sexist society means I need that experience to be recognised & respected. I need a clear definition of woman so my needs can be met in everything from product design to maternity leave.

The pink & blue babies thing really only appeared in the 1990s. In the 70s, we were steadily, if slowly, eroding sexist stereotyping kids, then the backlash began.
The stereotype of femininity changed from Laura Ashley to hyper sexy & someone inserted an idea that this new stereotype is "empowering"

Nothing surprising, I'm a feminis, standard feminism. Gender stereotypes are sexist bs. I have spent my life fighting them. I think conforming is to gender roles is not compulsory. I believe that in a sexist world a person's sex is important, not the same as gender & we need to see sex to see sexism

Sadly you experienced sexism at a young age. There should be no right way for a female or male to dress, no sex specific hobbies, interests, hairstyles etc.
I brought my children up with the mantra that anyone can like any colour, wear any clothes. My adult daughter has a shaven head & wears DMs...

I've never been that bothered by what I look like, aa long as my body does what I need to do I'm happy. The visible changes are part of the privilege of still being alive and well.

The older I get the less I care about what I look like, what other people think and societal expectations. In my 40s I was far from my peak, working full time and raising two small children. In my 60s I am going to the gym again and going out to concerts. For me menopause was liberating.

Looks are unimportant.

As I've aged I have become more content. My 50s were great and I'm really enjoying being over 60.

It is worth remembering that men's violence against women is not seen as a hate crime legally.
I'm not arguing that it should be just pointing a fact out.
We have laws that cover men's sexual violence, domestic violence/abuse, sexual exploitation & sexual harrassment. Sadly they are largely ignored

Furthermore, Sian, you don't believe that the protections (against discrimination in the provision of goods & services and employment) that trans people have under the Equality Act under the characteristic of gender reassignment and the protections they have in hate crime legislation are not enough.

So Sian, to be clear about this , you are saying that:
Female people should not have single sex spaces & sports or specialist services for reasons of privacy, dignity, safety & fairness, nor should they be able to organise autonomously against or to recover from sexism.

In the past 40+ years, I have spent decades volunteering in rape crisis centres, founded 2 womens centres, been active in consciousness raising groups, camped in women's peace camps... but I am not part of the women's movement as defined by someone who goes by "he/they" pronouns

I would never describe myself as a gender, you are not respecting what I am saying to you.

I am not gender, I am a woman, I believe gender to be a sexist concept and reject it in all it's forms and I do not have a gender identity.
You would ask me to respect your gender identity, please try to respect my lack of one.

I have no idea where you get this information from, but after 40 years in the women's movement, this is not anything I have heard before today.

I am less interested in what people choose to wear than how they act.
The truly gender non conforming males are those who are nurturing & caring, the non conforming females are able to combine nurturing with assertion & prioritising womens needs.
What colour or haircut a person chooses is immaterial

Radical feminist theory is female centred. It explains the oppression of females by males as being rooted in male exploitation of the female body, (radical means the root or fundamental nature).

I am not sure who you think is going to be "thrown in prison" or for what.

The Equality Act protects people with the protected characteristic of gender reassignment from discrimination in the supply of goods and services and in employment. It does not grant them access to spaces designated for the other sex or enable them to access services under the single sex exceptions.
