Seriously, need to set a tale about the cursed minotaur Horatio in an environment like this.

Setting is important to me, whether a deep forest, a misty land of sparkling black spires, an abandoned manor, or a northern expanse of frost, firs, and unnatural deer...

I have some sharp disagreements with Ayn Rand, but I still think her book *The Art of Fiction* is one of the most penetrating books on the topic for readers and writers alike.

While I think writers can hide their philosophical premises, or even adopt those of another, in general they stand exposed.

From *The Abolition of Man.* A fantastic little book that discusses emotion and reason working in concert together.

Landscapes like this make me want to set one of my tales about the cursed minotaur Horatio in an intercoastal-like environment of twisted trees, watery prairies, and decapitated palms.

For now, Red Wool has a deep forest, and Golden Straw has a strange landscape of mist and sparkling stone spires.

Not dedicated to reading just a single genre by a long shot!

Working on a manuscript where on this next round of revision one of my goals is to make it more magical, colorful, and even whimsical.

That and add a terrifying predatory deer.

The billhook.

Practical, multi-use, excellent against cavalry, works as a handy staff… and can be cheaply and easily made to equip armies. Was, in fact, an enormously common weapon back in the day - even if all-but-forgotten now.

The minotaur protagonist of my fantasy series favors a billhook.

Superman is great. Excellent supporting cast too. Looking forward to their own shows and movies.
