Season 2 keeps those gags to a fair minimum, and continues on with all the fascinating political and video game aspects that made season 1 so interesting, including a trip to a high-level raid zone and the question of what those pursuits mean when death has a steep unseen cost.

It's probably one of only a tiny handful of isekai settings I would actively want to be visit myself. It's such gorgeous worldbuilding and game design, without falling into even half the clumsy pitfalls of most other video game isekai stories.

I'd probably be a civil rights advocate for NPCs. 😄

Relaxing a little bit by starting a rewatch of Log Horizon S2.

As an isekai fan, there really are so few on the same level as Log Horizon. The characters are fun and the game mechanics are deeply integrated. It's a pity we only got 2 seasons from it, there's SO much more to see in the light novels.

Human language is irrational. Fundamentally. Computers just aren't going to be good at it in a fashion that we can actually safely rely on their output for anything beyond sounding like people. Tacking on modules to keep it honest is just making up for bad architecture choices.

Begging people to stop expecting reliable accuracy out of a statistical model parsing a noise map.

And if you have to mod the hell out of such a system so that it can actually recognise problems and respond to them appropriately, you might as well just be using that module to begin with.

Support So we've been using an Al agent since November to answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations, everyone loved it. I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this entire time. Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing plausible sounding percentages. I only caught it by accident when someone asked me to double check something. I started digging, and holy shit, it's bad.
