Just a reminder that singing helps with pain relief and it also helps bring people together. Today on my walk I listened to a black bird singing. I stopped and started to sing back. We had a back and forth singing for quite a long time. So beautiful!

I enjoyed your writing but for myself I did not want to cut all ties when I moved countries from the Seattle area to Stockholm. Of course the people that weren’t healthy fell away but a few key friends have been a life line through the times it’s been a struggle to find local friends.

Please be kind to the immigrants in your community. Learning a new language as an adult is not easy. Having others who are patient and accepting makes it so much easier.

We walked and talked and admired the little buds and flowers popping up all around. And she invited me to come find her the next time I have a babysitter and might want some company. Beautiful.

There are signs of spring here in Stockholm. I think in the current political climate that one of our best protections against fear and intolerance is to create community. I saw my neighbor today and we ended up taking a walk together. We traded between talking in English and Swedish.

That sounds totally creepy to me. I still get frustrated with the finger print ID on my phone. Anytime I have sweaty hands - it doesn’t work. But at least you have a back up with the password. But yeah. Voice recognition just seems - hard pass for me.

Singing with your child is an excellent way to calm stress for both of you. In those moments when things are difficult, children can misinterpret tone of voice changes. Try singing instead of speaking what you want to say.

Thanks for the video. Beautiful creatures! I loved seeing whales from Kitsap area a few times when the whales came into dyes inlet. And there was once or twice when I was on the ferry and whales were beside us and they made an announcement.

The library is an amazing place where you can reserve a quiet room. If it’s close enough to a school - it can be a great quiet and calm spot for a child who struggles to get to school. If children feel safe and loved and connected - they will have an easier time learning.

What things do you need but have to constantly ask for? How can you keep working to get your needs met even in the face of difficulties?
All clothes should have pockets!

This makes all the people you have a choice about interacting with more important. Get really good at saying no to people that drain your energy. To preserve your energy for the things you can’t avoid.

When you are struggling under unjust circumstances or accusations- this is the time to check on your closest people and strengthen those relationships. There are some people who you can’t choose such as government officials- or insurance company investigators- etc.

Just a little more confirmation of why I will not be visiting the US as long as T***p is in power.
