RIP Alice Wong, fiercest, finest, most fabulously dressed freedom fighter and friend. She changed the world a bit at a time every day and never stopped loving it. She taught me so much. I canβt believe this. I miss her bravery and clarity already. πβΏοΈ

Diving back into Woolf's On Being Ill today. I won't say I'd forgotten how brilliant this essay is, but what a joy to rediscover it after a few years.

And good luck to you too! Frequent breaks always help me - going for walks, tidying up around the house, etc. I usually get my best ideas while I'm doing the dishes. Hang in there!

This #ModWrite I'm making a start on a grant proposal for my PhD on Woolf and crip theory. Feeling hopeful and pessimistic and terrified and excited all at the same time, so I'm keeping in mind that a bad first draft is better than nothing at all.

After a four-year hiatus, I'm returning to #ModWrite (one day late, oops) by rereading my MA Thesis about Woolf and crip theory, ahead of a plan to work my ideas into a PhD proposal. I'm equal parts excited and terrified to see if anything holds up after taking a break for so long. Here we go!

absolutely crazy that for the past 4 years i've been like "doing a phd is not on my list of priorities and probably won't be for a long time" and now that i've been to one alumni event i've been obsessively researching how i can get back into academia

Never mind, a friend with a trans child asked him not to do the show and explained why and he still did it. Dead to me :)
