The worst part is our district is spinning it as a win because teacher vacancies are down from over 1000 to 200 this year, but that’s probably because nearly 800 positions have been cut because schools can’t afford them.

Hugs to you. I am also in a large district (top 10) and our enrollment is down this year, likely for the same reasons. Our principal has done everything she can but because of rising costs but no increases in spending per pupil, we will probably lose several teachers.

It may not interest her as much if she’s specifically interested in beats but it offers a wide variety of musical experiments and I love it as an elementary music teacher.

In a time when it feels really hard, I love public school students and educators. The beauty of our public school communities is joyful. And there are real challenges, but the students y'all. They are absolutely worth the love and the fight.

I can just be an “achiever” and that’s okay. I don’t need to constantly be an overachiever and overcommit myself. I’m happier than I’ve been in years and also less busy. I do my job, come home, and enjoy my hobbies.

You can also just use google! If you google “roll a d6” or any dice you want to use, it has a dice generator that I use when I don’t have physical dice! D4 through D20!

Gameifying things helps. (Dice rolls to decide what to do, how many things to pick up, etc.) Also having small routines to start and end my day at work. Even if that's the only thing I do that day, it seems to help me get started on other things.
