Hey British media,
Itβs no surprise that if you give Farage the run of the place, heβll start winning.
Time to do your actual jobs and start interrogating him on his Brexit shitshow, his funding, his Trumpiness, his idiotic manifesto, his real plans for the NHS⦠instead of drumrolling him into No.10

Great things have been accomplished by the community working together on the #Redruth Orchards Project. We now have 3 community orchards planted and an enthusiastic group of volunteers.

I'm not easily shocked, but the sight of individuals cheering on the richest man in the world as he takes away vital aid to the most desperate people on this Earth has shocked me.
There are good people. There are bad people. Then there's Elon Musk and his empathy devoid flesh failure followers.

2 Chief Constables suspended on full pay and now about to appoint a 3rd one. Meanwhile police officers at the front line severely stretched and under resourced.

Yes, I do agree. I just reacted to your apparent denigration of the police, most of whom are decent people dealing with the most unimaginable stuff day in day out, on our behalf, with little support or recognition.

No argument from me with any of that! There's no easy fix for intractable social problems that need a long-term & radical approach but more police will certainly help reinforce the stretched safety net at the bottom.

My daughter is in the police. The bulk of her work is at the sharp end of MH & domestic violence where other services have been cut to the bone. Police are providing an emergency response to many of the people you mention. They are stretched beyond belief & the need for more officers is extreme.

So it turns out they spent Β£715 million on sending a grand total of FOUR volunteers to Rwanda.
For comparison, this is more than you could expect to spend on building an entire brand new hospital in the UK

We need to get back to reading and critical thinking
Because 2024 feels different from 2016.
Feels like I'm just posting to the void since I'm just getting started here, but why not. I write a weekly newsletter, and this week I write about how far away from reading and critical thinking weβve come. It's lacking in our education, COVID learning loss, social media attention spans, all of it.
