On my way to Bolton to teach an Introduction to Creative Writing to 11 and overs at 4pm for We Are Explorers CIC (in my Gary the Dinosaur t-shirt from the org).
I'll be back Saturday to tell younger kids folklore tales of dragons!
Day one of sadly only two at the Bestwood Lodge. Turns out it is reputed to be a tad haunted... Top 5 most haunted hotels in Britain, even! I'll hopefully get some extra time to explore later :)

I would not call this a "fun" time, but I found it to be an intense worthwhile one.

Some horror movies are a fun harmless ride with a jump scare every 10 minutes or so that wrap up neatly. This is not that type of horror movie.
The Long Walk is a cruel ordeal that wants you to face some harsh questions about humanity and morality, doing a pretty effective job of it too!

IT'S ALIVE!
So, too, is my folklore podcast after a hiatus. We have some worrying inspiration for Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, all kinds of revenant corpses, and even a story about a gibbet that haunts through to the modern day.
Not necessarily a bad thing! Just a realisation.
Perfectly fine spooky season fun. Low in scares and stakes, fantastic in production value.

You know what I've realised?
These aren't horror movies.
They're superhero movies.
The movie Warrens (don't Google the real Warrens...) hop from adventure to adventure, saving people from the perils of evil with a mix of earnest bravery and some superpowers to back it up.

I'd definitely feel bad if I skipped it, so powering through as best I can :)
Including one of my dumbest, wildest concepts having a breakthrough!
I still need to fully get on top of my energy levels, and find enough time to really get stuck in, but it's feeling good :D

Thursday will be 4 weeks of treatment for diabetes.
I'm starting to get some real energy back, and enthusiasm for working on an assortment of scripts (plus other projects...) that have been on the back burner for a while.

What a brilliant year for horror! This is a weird, fun, and beautifully shot one. I'd heard this had a great pay off, and I wasn't disappointed. This may not be the scariest offering, but...
I don't want to say more. Weapons will reward you for going in unspoiled!
