tho there is a fashy type who is really into stirner who is high in CoS, sooo....

well, i think most people from the outside do not associate CoS with fascists. but it's always been really weird how there is this right-wing thing going on there - with fash, neoliberals, or whatever. doesn't make sense to me.

i have encouraged satanists to read Stirner, too

i think after a period of time, it could work independently - like christianity can work without antisemitism

08.08.2025 20:01 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 2    📌 0

i don't think that's true, it can clearly develop a separate theology and philosophy not based around rejecting christianity. i think people are already working on this; the anti-christian element is just one part of why people are interested in it

which has also always made me wonder if satanists who were not raised christian - esp jewish - approach this differently than those who were

this isn't going to make sense to people unfamiliar with Satanism, but to the others: one of the least appealing parts of it is the anti-Christian angle

I appreciate the sentiment, but I think it’s important to acknowledge that “real” members of movements can have reactionary ideas - rather than thinking we’re totally fine, and somehow they are just totally outsiders

Today, Brandon Russell was sentenced to 20 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release for his involvement in a plot to destroy Baltimore area power plants. He encouraged others to do the same through a loose, violent neo-Nazi network, Terrorgram

Read my coverage of his trial from earlier:

is it just me, or are there basically no NSBM bands that will come right out and own it?

Substack’s extremist ecosystem is flourishing The app's recent swastika push alert was just the tip of the iceberg.

Back in 2023, @katz.theracket.news published a piece in The Atlantic about Substack’s Nazi problem, which led to us launching the Substackers Against Nazis campaign. We both subsequently left the platform, but many insisted the problem wasn’t *that* bad. Katz’s follow-up report finds it def is.

If you’re not familiar with 764, reading this is one way to do it. It in turn has cross-pollinated with accelerationist neo-Nazi terrorism, 09A Satanism, and people grooming school shooters.

when i write about Satanism, i always have to stop because i get burned out; i'm especially uninterested the theology. it's like i need to come up for air. I'm doing an article on it b/c i had to stop working on it in my book. i'd do a book on Nazi-Satanism, but i think halfway through I'd bail.

Turkey Bans British Play (Published 1937)

100% disagree. in prewar US "orient" definitely included places like Turkey. in the immediate postwar era it may have shifted, but not before. from 1938 for ex:

But is an ideological White Supremacist who uses *some* Nazi symbolism and references, but otherwise is a typical pan-Aryan, actually a “Nazi”? 🤔

also: don’t agree that their ranks have exploded, SPLC annual census doesn’t show this

my understanding is that it would’ve referred to anything in Asia, including Turkey and parts of the Soviet Union. Some people argued that Germany should even be included in this.

so just got a sales update: in a little over a year, i've sold over 1,500 books! not bad for a 450 page, 30 chapter book about a niche topic and on an academic press.

Anti-migrant sentiment bridges divide between nationalist and loyalist communities in Ireland Several news outlets featured ISD’s recent Dispatch covering Irish Republicans and Northern Irish loyalists shared anti-migrant sentiment and the regional and global implications of this convergence.

Ethnonationalist & loyalist groups in Ireland—once divided by deep historic conflicts—are now uniting over anti-migrant sentiment. ISD’s Zoe Manzi speaks to several outlets about this activity, calling it a major shift with “old ideological lines breaking down, replaced by shared grievances.”

it's pretty underwhelming watching people totally into surrendering their democratic rights to an authoritarian, populist leader. after reading about this dynamic for decades, i thought there'd at least be evil pomp and pageantry - not just people loving a slovenly, corrupt, and insecure idiot.

making like $15k a year isn’t a career, its just a hi-profile side gig (that’s full time)

I remember hearing that cult punk star Richard Hell had become an air conditioner repair guy. I was flabbergasted.

Now I would like to become an air conditioner repair guy.
