The reason I left is because I *really* don't share Elon Musk's views. I wouldn't knowingly use or buy goods or services from a company owned by an individual with his world view.

Go - it's absolutely stunning. Madder Valley is a proper piece of history, the Dartmoor and Seawall scenes are brilliant, but the main event (Pendon) is mind-blowingly good, with a really interesting audio tour.

We have absolutely pissed away the last ten years on bloody Brexit. If Labour wants to stop Farage, there's the line of attack. It was his policy, he needs to own the abject failure.

Sadly many of them are real people, living in places like Thurrock and Basildon. It's truly depressing.

So do you support violent direct action of the sort Palestine Action has carried out? Like I said (and you ignored) I think there's no doubt it's genocide - the government has been far too slow to call it out, and has not done anything like enough.

You can be opposed to the genocide without supporting Palestine Action. Don't portray this as something it isn't.

Security massively increased there, and at the ferry ports, plus the hauliers themselves. Very difficult to hitch a lift in an HGV like they used to, though it does still happen - but in the low hundreds per year, not thousands.

Just watched the last of The Hack. I wasn’t sure it was worth opening up Leveson 2. But I do now. Murdoch won’t be here much longer. He needs to feel the full justice of the law. They all should. If there was one plague we could get rid of it’s the Murdochs.

The government has to learn how to lead public opinion, rather than chase it. Leaving X is a no-brainer when the algorithm is stacked in favour of extremists.

I've a theory that they actually don't want a safe route. The unsafe and expensive boat crossings are probably perceived as limiting the numbers attempting to claim asylum. Who knows whether they really do limit numbers - I do know it's inhumane to let them continue.

Just abolish NI altogether and reform income tax. NI is pretty meaningless anyway - it doesn't fund the state pension, benefits, or the NHS on its own. It's an unnecessary complication.

Β£500m Thames Water desalination plant has provided just seven days’ water over 15 years Plant in Beckton has run only five times and has been beset by multiple problems since it was built

By 2050, the UK is predicted to be short an estimated 4-5 billion litres of water a day. Clearly, Thames Water's desalination plant hasn't proven an efficient way of making us water secure. But which approaches might work?

Like if they need to be banned.

Robinson kept interrupting even even Davey was answering the question. Part of me says that at least they gave them air time. But then, they gave uncritical air time to Reform's latest idiocy.

The only reason I know is they were interviewing Ed Davey on R4 Today when I was in the car. They had the cheek to ask him why they do the silly stunts, to which he replied (I paraphrase) that that's the only way they get news coverage, but they also make sure to push their message at the same time.

It's the Lib Dem conference. They should be the big political stories this week. Instead, we've got Reform with a very ill thought out (is it even thought out?) policy with fictional figures dominating the news agenda. We are well and truly screwed, aren't we.

Are you sure you've read it? It doesn't major on economics, and the first part of the book looking at potential is physics based, and that hasn't changed. McKay is a renewables enthusiast.

Would love you to point out which bits are "nonsense". The fundamentals of how much energy we can extract from the wind and sun haven't changed in 15 yrs. At times we have an excess, most times we don't. And we aren't powering all our transport from electricity, which we will be in the future.

It really isn't practically unlimited. I would have a read of Sustainable Energy without the Hot Air to get a good explainer of why. The e-book is free to download, or you can (as I did) pick up the paperback for about Β£5 2nd hand.

As I've said in another post, using electricity to produce H2 only makes sense at times when you have a surplus. That isn't going to work for the volumes that would be needed for transportation. 48% efficiency for an H2 FCEV including fuel production vs 80% for a BEV.

Or could it be that - important though Palestine is - we will have an existential crisis in our own country if Reform are allowed to continue setting the agenda. There are other important topics that need to be discussed.

It is real. How sad that the left still hasn't learned. Judean People's Front/People's Front of Judea is a parody that has aged exceedingly well.
