One thing about Stephen Graham Jones books, they always seem to stick with you.

I finished up The Long Trial of Nolan Dugatti by @sgj.bsky.social last night and was blown away with how much of an impact was able to be put into such a short book. Reminded me a lot of games like Gone Home and What Remains of Edith Finch.

One of my favorite films of all time. The effects, the score, the actors, the way it’s shot, everything just clicks.

I like horror books

I like horror movies

I like horror video games

But above all else I love character driven stories in those mediums. And if some monsters and ghosts are thrown in, then that’s a plus.

Metal Gear Solid is probably my favorite game ever. I think it showed me just how strong a storytelling medium video games could be.
