Please read this about AI. It's also about me and my profession. Every word is true.
I'm in a position where I can, and do say my piece without fear - the VCs simply don't care.
Many of my tech friends feel they have to keep mum about their professional views on AI, or risk losing their jobs.
This is rapidly becoming true in academia too.
There's firm opposition in the humanities, but I fear we're being overwhelmed by administrators who've already bought the pitch and by our colleagues in technical fields who sincerely think it's something their students need to learn how to use.

To make sure AI serves workers we need bold action: corporate regulation, worker voice + sectoral bargaining.

Men may be doing worse than they used to, but women are still doing worse than men by many measures. Instead of creating special programs for men, maybe ask why we have an economy in which most people can't succeed...?

Trump has made no comment. The White House has found the time to post a video of the arrest of that guy who threw a sandwich at a cop, but nothing about a cop killed defending the government's own employees.
